“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Industry, and Trade serves as the administrative body for the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Industry, and Trade of the Faroe Islands. With a diverse mandate, it oversees diplomatic affairs, foreign relations, and vital economic sectors.

The Ministry is responsible for foreign relations, security, and defence. The Faroese Foreign Service operates under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Industry, managing foreign affairs and international relations. It maintains seven representations abroad in Brussels, Copenhagen, London, Moscow, Reykjavik, and Tel Aviv, with an additional office opening in Washington in autumn 2024.

Nationally, the Ministry oversees a wide array of responsibilities, encompassing trade, innovation, agriculture, tourism, aquaculture, ICT, cybersecurity, telecommunications, among other sectors.”

Framtak is an independent commercial investment fund based in Tórshavn with the goal of developing and diversifying the Faroese business environment and the Faroese industry.

Our investments range from start-up companies to more mature companies that expand into new areas of business or new markets.

Framtak is an equity investor and can provide debt funding as well.

Íverksetarahúsið

Iverksetarahúsið (Innovation Center) focuses on promoting and assisting entrepreneurs, as well as promoting entrepreneurship throughout the Faroe Islands to support the development of a diverse business sector.

The main activity of Iverksetarahúsið is to provide general and free advice to all Faroese individuals who have ideas and aspirations for entrepreneurship. We also organize regular events and courses focused on entrepreneurship, as well as educational activities for schools.
